Easy Ways You Can Raise Funds For Local Animals in Need

Our aim is to prevent animal suffering and cruelty in our area by giving advice, supported veterinary care, and rehoming cruelly treated or neglected animals.
Although we work within the rules, policies and guidlines of the national RSPCA, we are a separately registered charity and we are responsible for our own funding and rely on donations and the generosity of the community to help our local animals.
Last year, we neutered 223 dogs and cats and provided 1,741 vet treatments for local pets.
Could you make a donation so that we can increase the number of animals we can help?

1) Text your donation!
You can text a donation of up to £10:

2) Post us a cheque
Make the cheque payable to "RSPCA Wigan, Leigh & District Branch" - don't forget to complete a gift aid form if you are a tax payer.
Send to: RSPCA Wigan, Leigh & District Branch, York Street, Wallgate, Wigan WN3 4BY

3) Sponsor a Cat Pen
Looking after our cats and kittens until they find their new homes is a costly business, there are boarding costs, vets bills, food and cat litter to buy and of course toys to play with.
If you would like to help us please do consider sponsoring one of our pens. You can find more here.

4) Become a PAWS Pal
A PAWS PAL’s donation helps to :
  • Treat a sick animal
  • Care for and feed ill treated and homeless animals
  • Finds animals at risk their forever home
  • Funds our advice line
  • Provides low cost neutering for dogs and cats
Becoming a PAWS PAL is easy, just decide how much you would like to donate monthly and then call the PAWS Centre (01942 824165 or email for a standing order form.
All our PAWS PALS with have their names displayed on our PALS Board in the PAWS Centre as well as receiving our Newsletter and invites to open days and other special events. We will also send you a welcome pack including a  letter, certificate and a
special gift.  THANK YOU

5) Leave a legacy - remember us in your Will
Our branch is very thankful to those people who remember us in their Will.
Leaving a legacy to a charity such as ours allows you to carry on caring long after you are gone. Leaving us a gift in your Will will help us to develop our existing services and equipment and carry on our work into the future.
It is straightforward to have a Will drawn up and having one saves a lot of aggravation and heartbreak for your relatives when you die. If you have already made your Will but would now like to leave us a gift, arrange to add a codicil to your existing Will.
If you want your legacy to benefit local animals rather than the national Society, you must clearly state the beneficiary as the RSPCA Wigan, Leigh & District Branch, Charity number: 232249.

6) Payroll giving
Payroll Giving is a simple and tax-effective way to support us. If you are employed and pay income tax you can arrange to regularly donate a small amount of your salary to charity. Payroll giving donations are deducted from your salary before tax. So each £1 you give will only cost you 80p (or 60p if you are a higher-rate tax payer) - the taxman pays the rest.
Your Payroll Department may already have a form or system in place for you to use, so contact them first to find out. Let the person who pays your salary know you would like to donate to: RSPCA Wigan, Leigh & District Branch, Charity number: 232249

7) Raise money for local animals while searching and shopping online
- it won't cost you a penny!!
Or download a 'Give as you Live' widget for your browser to make things even easier. As you search and shop online, you will generate small donations from the retailers and websites that you visit! The pennies will quickly mount up!
