Reporting Cruelty

Animal Cruelty or Neglect
If you are concerned about the welfare of an animal please phone the
RSPCA National Helpline
 on:  0300 1234 999
The National Helpline
operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you need to report cruelty or an animal in distress there is certain information the RSPCA needs to investigate. Please read the reporting cruelty checklist for further information.

The RSPCA receives a call for help approximately every 30 seconds. Some situations that may appear distressing are not against the law. In their daily work our inspectors have to prioritise cases where the law is actually being broken.
You can contact the RSPCA in two ways

Call our 24-hour cruelty line
Call us on 0300 1234 999 to report cruelty or an animal in distress. The call will cost the same as any call to a UK landline number.
You will be asked a variety of questions to ensure that your call is prioritised according to its urgency. Please note, during busier periods your call may be placed in queue.
