Some of the local animals we have helped The RSPCA Wigan, Leigh & District Branch works within the rules, policies and guidelines of the national RSPCA to promote kindness and prevent cruelty to animals, but we are a separately registered charity.

We are responsible for our own funding so that we can support the care and welfare for local animals within the wider Wigan and Leigh district area - WA3 3; WA3 2; WA3 1; M29 7; M29 8; M46 9, and M46 0.

Volunteer Wildlife Network Driver

Could you support RSPCA Inspectors, Welfare Officers and Collection Officers in the North West area (based at the RSPCA Inspectorate Office in Wigan) by collecting and transporting injured, sick and orphaned wildlife?

Animal cruelty or neglect

Please do not contact us with complaints or concerns linked to animal cruelty or neglect, as we don't have any staff that can deal with these. Instead, phone the RSPCA National Helpline on 0300 1234 999 which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. .

Treatment for sick or injured wild animals and birds

Any vet will provide free treatment for a sick or injured wild animal or bird, including a pigeon. If you require assistance or further advice, phone us on 01942 824165 and we will do our best to help. If there is no answer, or it is outside operational hours (Monday-Friday, 11am - 1pm), please phone the National Helpline number 0300 1234 999.
