The RSPCA Wigan, Leigh & District Branch works within the rules, policies and guidelines of the national RSPCA to promote kindness and prevent cruelty to animals, but we are a separately registered charity.
We are responsible for our own funding so that we can support the care and welfare for local animals within the wider Wigan and Leigh district area - WA3 3; WA3 2; WA3 1; M29 7; M29 8; M46 9, and M46 0.
4th November 2014
We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of our most loyal supporters, Avril Fishwick OBE.
Avril opened our Clinic in 2010 and was an advocate of animal welfare for many years. She was a wonderful supporter of our branch and will be deeply missed.
On behalf of the staff, trustees and volunteers of RSPCA Wigan, Leigh & District branch, we send our best wishes and regards to her family.
