Donating
Our aim is to prevent animal suffering and cruelty in our area by giving advice, supported veterinary care, and rehoming cruelly treated or neglected animals. Although we work within the rules, policies and guidlines of the national RSPCA, we are actually a separately registered charity and responsible for our own funding and for managing local animal welfare work. We rely on public donations and the generosity of the community to help our local animals.
There are many ways you can help us financially to carry on caring for the welfare of local animals:

Raise money for local animals while searching and shopping online
- it won't cost you a penny!!
And it's so easy!
As you go about your normal internet activities - searching and shopping - you can be generating donations from the retailers and websites that you visit! You won’t pay a penny yourself - but you'll still be supporting the care of local animals!
- Bookmark our easysearch/easyfundraising
link and use it as your starting point every time you search or shop
online.
Everytime you search using easysearch, you will generate a small donation for us (the pennies will quickly mount up). Easyfundraising has deals with thousands of retailers to make donations to your cause if you shop through them - up to £50 from some of them if you go via Easyfundraising to switch to their service, participate in free trials or register on their site.
If you register, you can track the funds that you're generating and you'll also receive email offers on competitions and the latest bargains from online retailers across the web! - Download a 'Give as you Live' widget for your browser. Then whenever you search for something online, the widget will show you fundraising opportunities available from retailers associated with your search item (usually what percentage of the purchase price will be donated).
IF WE ALL DO IT, THINK HOW MUCH WE COULD RAISE!!
At the start of 2012, our supporters had raised £187.61 through easyfundraising, £18.65 through easysearch and £8.95 through everyclick!
Donating while buying or selling on eBay
If you are a seller on eBay, you can choose to support us when listing an item by donating between 10% - 100% of the final selling price. In return, the seller receives credit for the eBay basic insertion and final value fees (equal to the percentage donated).
The above eBay link will also allow anyone to use PayPal to make a one-off donation.

Payroll giving
Payroll Giving is a simple and tax-effective way to support us.
If you
are employed and pay income tax you can arrange to regularly donate a small
amount of your salary to your local RSPCA branch. Donating through your
pay saves you money as you don't have to pay tax on the money you donate.
Your Payroll Department may already have a form or system in place for you to use, so contact them first to find out. Let the person who pays your salary know you would like to donate to: RSPCA Wigan, Leigh & District Branch, Charity number: 232249
If your workplace doesn't have a payroll giving system in place, visit Workplace Giving UK to find out more and to set up your own payroll giving.

Leave a legacy - please remember us in your Will
Our branch is very thankful to those people who remember us in their Will.
Leaving a legacy to a charity such as ours allows you to carry on caring long after you are gone. Leaving us a gift in your Will will help us to develop our existing services and equipment and carry on our work into the future.
It is straightforward to have a Will drawn up and having one saves a lot of aggravation and heartbreak for your relatives when you die. If you have already made your Will but would now like to leave us a gift, arrange to add a codicil to your existing Will.
If you want your legacy to benefit local animals rather than the national Society, you must clearly state the beneficiary as the RSPCA Wigan, Leigh & District Branch, Charity number: 232249. You can find more information from our leaflet 'Leave it to us'.
