We have a very busy time ahead of us here at the Branch. As well as the events listed below, we have the opening and running of our new part-time animal clinic which will be operational in the next few months. The animal advice and welfare information telephone line will be operating at full speed and we will be attending as many local events as possible, so as to benefit the local animals and their welfare needs.

 

APRIL

Sunday, 11th April 2010

“Mutt Strutt” sponsored dog walk and ‘Dogs Day Out’ at Pennington Flash, Leigh. We will bring along half a dozen dogs who are looking for a new home, from one of our RSPCA animal centres. Visitors will be able to sponsor a dog and take it on the walk. You never know, we may be able to find a loving new home for the dogs at the same time. The meeting point is the field adjacent to the visitor centre.

Registration from 10.30am Walk Starts 11.30am. sponsor forms available from our charity shop.

This is a good day for all the family to enjoy and blow away the cobwebs and get some exercise. There will be a Tombola and a ‘Fun’ event to find dogs with the funniest smile, waggiest tail, best trick, lookalike competition (dog and owner)

Please come along and take part to lend your support to our needy cause.

Fundraising Collection Day at D.W. STADIUM Wigan Vs Arsenal – The match between Wigan and Arsenal is to be played on Sunday, 18th April.  Kick-Off is at 1.30pm and if any volunteers can assist with this collection we would be most grateful.  Meet on the plaza between “Rigaletto’s” restaurant and the players entrance at 11.45am.  Anybody who is going to the match, please look out for our volunteer collectors and be generous with a  cash donation.

April 26th to May 2nd Is RSPCA WEEK !!

This is a major fundraising event in the calendar of the RSPCA. Tesco stores very kindly allow the RSPCA to use their facilities to collect donations of pet food for us to distribute to needy animals. We are also permitted to collect donations from the very generous customers who pass through the doors of the supermarkets at Wigan, Atherton and Hindley. Please spare us a thought if you are a Tesco shopper.

JUNE

Sunday, 13th June

We are attending the ‘Pemberton Gala Day’ where we will have a stall providing information and advice about animal welfare. We will be microchipping dogs for only £10 each on the day. Come along and visit us, we will have some exciting news about our “Brand New” PAWS (Practical Animal Welfare Solutions) animal advice centre and part-time animal clinic. We would love to see you there.

We will be at the ‘Wigan Infirmary Gala Day’ where we will have a stall providing information and advice about animal welfare. We will be microchipping dogs for only £10 each on the day. Please come along and give us your support. There will be an opportunity to find out about our exciting new project, which is our “Brand New” PAWS (Practical Animal Welfare Solutions) animal welfare and advice centre and part-time animal clinic for local animals

 

JULY

Saturday, 24th and Sunday, 25th

We shall be at the Beacon Country Park in Upholland, where there will be a ‘Green Fayre’ we will be on hand to provide practical animal welfare information and advice. We will be microchipping dogs for only £10 each on the day. Come along and lend your support and find out about our exciting new RSPCA project, the ‘PAWS’ (Practical Animal Welfare Solutions) animal advice centre and part-time animal clinic.

 

AUGUST

No confirmed dates as yet, but watch this space……………

 

SEPTEMBER

Sunday, 19th September is the “MUTT STRUTT 2”

This will be our 2nd attempt of the year at raising much needed funds for the needy local animals and their welfare. More details of this event will be published in the coming weeks. (Click here for more details)
