DIARY 2008
Here is a list of the events being held by the branch during 2008 to help the animals of your town. If you are able to help with any of these events, please contact us.
Garden Party: Saturday 21st July, 2 p.m.
To be held in in Anne Scotson's Garden, 22 Lynton Street, Leigh, WN7 5AW.
Dog Show at the WOW Festival: Sunday 3rd August
With help from Wigan Canine Society, this is always a fun event for happy dogs and their owners. Helpers needed for us to microchip pets and issue neutering vouchers to needy owners. We also run information and fundraising stalls.
Charity Concert: Sunday 10th August
Being held at St Paul's Labour Club, Heather Grove, Leigh, WN7 5QS. Guest Artist, Brian Dee, plus Bingo and Tombola. Tickets available from RSPCA Charity Shop. Organised by Anne Scotson and Lisa Shaw.
Great North Run: Sunday 5th October
Ian Marshall has very generously offered to apply to run for the Branch again! This is a very strenuous race and we would like Ian to know that fellow Wigan animal supporters are behind him if he wins an entry place in the race. His wife, Rose, and his dog will be cheering him on, both on the day and on his many cold and wet training runs. Please contact us or Gilmore's Vets with your offers of sponsorship, or if you would like to receive a sponsorship form.
(Note: Sunday 5th October is the day after St. Francis' Day - the Patron Saint of Animals!)
Dogs' Day Out/Sponsored Dog Walk: Sunday 28th September
Beacon Country Park. Assemble at car park area away from Golf Club. Walk on the day for only £5 or collect a form in advance. Why not sponsor one of the vans full of dogs from Liverpool Animal Centre that we will be bringing for a walk and some socialisation? It also gives them a chance of finding a new owner, too! Microchipping, neutering forms and welfare information offered, too.
Grand Christmas Draw: Saturday 6th December
Volunteers always needed to sell/buy tickets and to donate prizes.
Please keep checking this web site for updates of future events. Make it your home page, or add it to your favorites, and tell your friends about it so that animals looking for homes (new ones come to us every day) find new human companions.
